I started practicing yoga 15 years ago as a way to prevent injuries related to distance running. As I have grown in my practice, I realize I have been doing yoga for much longer than that. As a small child, I loved to move. Whether I was jumping, running or standing on my head, I have always had this urge to move through the world. My love for physical movement and my interest in the body led me to study Exercise Science at George Washington University, working as a certified athletic trainer with collegiate and high school athletes for six years. Recently, I decided to step into the role of yoga teacher, completing my 200 hour certification with Eva Whipple at Soul Yoga Studio. My journey in yoga has led me to an awareness of my body, my breath and my energy that I never knew was possible. I teach yoga so that I can hopefully help others to experience that awareness, living in connection with purpose and love.
